Speak Up Girls: Amplifying Young Voices in Governance
At Agents of Change Foundation Zambia, we recognize that gender equity is essential for sustainable development. Our Speak Up Girls project is dedicated to empowering young women and girls, providing them with platforms to engage in governance and decision-making processes.
This initiative has already made significant strides in promoting gender equity in local communities. By facilitating workshops and dialogue sessions, we create safe spaces for girls to share their experiences, challenges, and aspirations. The project highlights the importance of their voices in shaping policies that affect their lives and futures.
Recently, participants had the unique opportunity to interact directly with local leaders during Children’s Day, where they presented their views on environmental issues and governance. The engagement not only raised awareness among policymakers but also inspired the girls to continue advocating for their rights.
The impact of Speak Up Girls extends beyond the immediate participants. As these young women gain confidence and leadership skills, they become role models for their peers, fostering a culture of empowerment and advocacy within their communities.
We believe that when girls are empowered to speak up, they can drive meaningful change. Join us in supporting the Speak Up Girls initiative and help us create a more equitable and inclusive society for all. Together, we can ensure that every young girl’s voice is heard and valued.
